Gender in German Sign Language
Research project within the framework of the Equal Opportunities Fund of the UHH, 2019-2020
The project investigates gender-sensitive language use in interpreting between German spoken language and German Sign Language. From different perspectives it will be examined which linguistic forms are mainly used in public lectures, e.g. at the University of Hamburg, and how equality is guaranteed not only for hearing and deaf people, but for all people in interpreting and is in the consciousness of the actants.
