Sign-Hub documentary "We were there... we are here"
In the framework of the EU project "The Sign-Hub" a documentary film was made which had its (digital) world premiere at the FEAST conference in Paris in June 2020. The documentary "We were there ... we are here" can now also be viewed online with German subtitles. The film is based on interviews and life testimonies of elderly deaf people from France, Germany, Israel, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain and Turkey.
The interviews were conducted by teams of deaf scholars as part of the European Commission funded research project "The Sign Hub: Preserving, Exploring and Promoting the Linguistic, Historical and Cultural Heritage of the European Sign Language Community through an Integral Resource" (Horizon 2020).
The interviews with deaf seniors in Germany were conducted by Jens-Michael Cramer in the context of the research projects "The Sign Hub" and "(Un)sichtbare Lebensgeschichten". The film can also be viewed on the following website of the Sign Language Laboratory Göttingen:
