The student project at IDGS "Diversity in Teaching" invites together with the IDGS to a guest lecture by Silvia Gegenfurtner. The title is "Vom Privileg zu hören - Audismuskritisch denken lernen“ (english translation: „About the privilege to hear - Learning to think critically about audism“)
When? May 17 from 6 p.m.
Content: What barriers do sign language people encounter in everyday life? Where does accessibility actually begin? And what does it mean to be hearing or deaf? After an introduction to the topic of "audism", the lecture invites participants to reflect on the invisible privilege of hearing in a society focused on hearing and to learn to think critically of audism. In addition, participants will be given impulses on "how-to-be-an-ally".

Registration deadline: May 17th 12 noon.
Attendance? The talk is open to the public, which means that all interested people can attend! The lecture is also suitable for people who have not yet had any contact with the topic. The event will be held in German Sign Language and German, sign language interpreters will be present.
