The annual conference “Architecture and Mechanisms for Language Processing” (AMLaP) took place at the Université de Paris from 02.09.2021 until 04.09.2021. This conference primarily attends to research on spoken languages but this year’s focus was on understudied languages with a broad variety of international researchers who gave insight into their current projects.
Our PhD student Janika Thies was lead author on the short talk “Investigating spatial processing of signs with modified palm orientation in German Sign Language (DGS) using eye-tracking”. She presented the results of an experimental eye-tracking study which she conducted together with Anne Wienholz and Annika Herrmann. Janika got the opportunity to discuss the findings with international researchers from around the world.
