On the occasion of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, a symposium on Ableism and Audism will be held on Saturday, 03.12.2022. The theme of the event is Article 27 "Work and Employment" of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
The symposium will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the University of Hamburg, in the main building (ESA) at the Edmund-Siemers-Allee 1, in room 221.
The program includes lectures on the topics of Ableism and Audism, reports on the experiences of those affected and a subsequent panel discussion with various experts from the field of work and employment, in which the findings and possible alternatives for action will be discussed.
For barrier-free communication, sign language interpreters and written interpreters will be available, as well as an induction hearing system for hearing aid users and cochlear implant users.
