Interest in Boys’ Day at IDGS was once again very high in 2026: the maximum group size was reached in no time. On April 23, 15 boys aged 11 to 14 visited us.
After an official welcome, the participants received an introductory lesson in German Sign Language with Alexander Eisenzimmer, allowing them to gain their own hands-on experience.
Simone Scholl and Yannick then provided vivid insights into the professional field of sign language interpreting and answered questions about training and practice.
The program was rounded out by a visit to our specialized library. Divided into small groups, the boys also learned about the DGS Corpus Project, including the film studios and technical equipment, as well as our EEG lab.
The participants showed great interest throughout and left the IDGS with many new impressions and visibly satisfied.
