On November 26th 2019 Dr. Agnes Villwock gave a public presentation within the lecture series "Vom Ding zum Wissen: Aus der Werkstatt der Kleinen Fächer" (small disciplines at the University of Hamburg) . The talk was entitled "German Sign Language: Sign Languages and Sign Language Interpreting - A Small Subject Becomes Visible". The audience of about 40 interested people from different fields, from the contact study as well as from the IDGS itself came to ESA West at 6 pm to take part in the lecture interpreted in DGS. While some were already familiar with certain topics, there were others who had not yet had any contact with subjects from the field of sign languages and their disciplines. The exchange after the lecture was correspondingly interactive. Here a lively round of questions took place, during which concrete questions were asked about the contents of the lecture as well as about more general relevant topics, some of which were also discussed in the plenum.
