From 8 to 11 May 2017, the SignHub Summer School took place in Gargnano (Italy). Annika Herrmann worked together with Carlo Geraci, Carlo Cecchetto and Mirko Santoro to teach a group of international students from all over the world. The three courses in the area of sign language research were in information structure, phonology and syntax. Deaf and hearing students from various faculties were able to present and move ahead with their own projects against the historical backdrop of the Palazzo Feltrinelli and the Casa Bertolini in an intensive exchange. The supporting programme included, among others, a presentation on the EU-funded SignHub project, a lecture on inclusion in the Italian school system and a historical lecture by two deaf historians from Milan.
