IDGS at the 6th German Culture Festival of the Deaf in Potsdam
The 6th German Culture Festival of the Deaf took place in Potsdam from 17 to 19 May 2018. More than 2500 visitors from all over Germany and other countries came to the venue at the metropolis hall in Potsdam-Babelsberg (a traditional center of the film industry), addressing subjects such as politics, culture, science and the sign language world. The IDGS team was represented with a stand which we shared with the DGS-Corpus project from Hamburg and the Gesellschaft für Gebärdensprache und Kommunikation Gehörloser e. V.- GGKG (Society for Sign Language and Communication of the Deaf ). We presented the institute’s new location Gorch-Fock-Wall, gave out our new leaflets about our degree courses and research focuses and advertised the TISLR 13 conference 2019 in Hamburg. But, above all, it was great to meet so many old and new friends and acquaintances. We enjoyed three days with a full program and had a lot of fun!
