The "Barrier-Free Communication" conference took place in Hildesheim from 18 to 20 October to mark the beginning of the new master's degree programme of the same name. The conference included contributions on topics such as barrier-free communication, legal accessibility, educational policy, accessibility technologies and easy language.
In addition, the freshly printed textbook "Barrier-Free Communication" was presented, in which Uta Benner and Annika Herrmann jointly published a review article on sign language interpreting. The conference and workshops at the Bühler Campus of the University of Hildesheim were accompanied by sign language and simultaneous interpreters and offered an interesting exchange and new perspectives.
