On Thursday 17 January 2019, Mr Mirko Santoro, of CNRS (Centre national de la recherche scientifique) in Paris delivered a guest lecture at the IDGS in Paris on his recently defended dissertation: Compounds in Italian and French Sign Language The presentation was entitled “Compounds in sign languages: the case of Italian and French Sign Language”. He delivered an interesting lecture in International Sign, which was interpreted by a team of deaf and hearing interpreters into GSL and German. Following the lecture, a great deal of discussion was had during a relaxed dinner in a restaurant, where not only the delicious fish was given the most detailed attention, but also the individual sign constructions and their components.
