Sarah Schwarzenberg traveled to Bergen, Norway, at the end of February for a one-month research stay with the DAAD scholarship for doctoral students. There, she worked on her PhD thesis at the Universitetet i Bergen (UiB) and exchanged ideas with two international researchers on site about metaphors in sign languages. She was also invited to give a guest lecture at Høgskulen på Vestlandet (HVL) in the lecture series "Silc seminars (Sign Language, Interpreting, Linguistics and Communication seminars)" on 14 March 2023. The title of the lecture was "Identifying metaphors in German Sign Language (DGS) in a corpus". Of course, some trips to get to know the country and its people was not to be missed either.
