On November 6 and 7, 2025, the workshop “Sign Language Grammars, Parsing Models & the Brain” took place in Leipzig. Sign language researchers from all over the world met at the Max Planck Institute to discuss this topic. The program was very diverse and covered a wide range of topics. The IDGS was represented with two presentations. Cornelia Loos gave a presentation entitled “Challenging Linearization: Temporally Iconic Simultaneity in Complex Predicates in DGS.” Under the title “The Impact of Age of Acquisition on the Processing of Agreement Verbs in Deaf Children Perceiving German Sign Language Sentences,” Anne Wienholz presented results from a joint research project with the Deafness, Language and Learning Lab (D2L, Faculty of Education). The workshop provided a great opportunity for interdisciplinary exchange!
