75th Student Conference on Linguistics

From 08 to 12 May 2024, the 75th Studentische Tagung der Sprachwissenschaft (= Student Conference of Linguistics, also called StuTS) took place in Graz, Austria. The conference is organized by and for students of linguistics and allows them to experience how conferences work, to meet other students interested in linguistics and to present their current work. Our student Isabeau Lettow participated as well and gave a presentation on the topic “Classifiers in Sign Languages – A Typological Overview”. For this, she won the first prize for the best presentation awarded by the Junge Sprachwissenschaft e.V. Apart from the keynotes, posters, workshops and presentations, students also got to explore the city of Graz, for example taking in the beautiful view from the Schlossberg with perfect weather. The next StuTS will take place from 20 to 24 November in Marburg, Germany.
