Guest lecture at the IDGS by Isabella Buckenmaier and Carmen Schwarz as part of our concept "What counts: Interpreting in Digital Settings“, financially supported by the Claussen-Simon-Foundation, on 10. February 2021 on:
The Corona pandemic has changed a lot for all of us, throwing our personal and professional lives into disarray. In many areas, the focus of work has shifted to the home office. The boundaries between private spaces and the workplace have become blurred. Working and behavioral patterns have to be re-examined and adapted constantly. Teaching at the universities in Hamburg has also been transferred almost completely to the virtual world. Isabella Buckenmaier (student) and Carmen Schwarz (interpreter) reported on the situation and its resulting consequences including a question and answer session at the end.
The lecture was held and interpreted in German and DGS and was very well attended with at times 58 participants in the Zoom meeting.
We thank both speakers for the very detailed insight into their experiences!
