International guest lecture by Marianne Rossi Stumpf

On 17 April 2024, our guest researcher Marianne Rossi Stumpf presented the next guest lecture in our summer semester series. In the presentation entitled ‘Bilingual glossary LIBRAS/Portuguese for university administration: a corpus-based proposal’, Marianne gave us an insight into her work and presented one of her research projects. She discussed the challenges involved in carrying out the project. It turned out that, initially, the chosen scientific methods did not lead to satisfactory results. But Marianne showed that continuous and sometimes creative work can still lead to reaching the goal. As a result, the project was able to collect scientific signs in order to create a glossary of these terms. Finally, Marianne visualized and discussed some of these signs.
