On 29. April 2024, Débora Campos presented a lecture on ‘Legends of the Brazilian Indigenous Population: Teaching, Research and Transmission for the Deaf Community’. In this presentation, Débora addressed the importance of scientific dissemination of literature from the book “Onze Historías e um Segredo: unveiling amazon legends“(Sales, 2006), including videos in Brazilian Sign Language (LIBRAS), created by the author. The aim is to encompass the relevance of disseminating LIBRAS-literature, sign writing, indigenous legends, and research on indigenous sign languages (Línguas Indigenas de Sinais, LIS) in Brazil among the deaf communities. This project connects academic research, teaching and extension, while supporting university students in their professional training as LIBRAS-Portuguese interpreters.
