On Friday 15 November 2024, Liona Paulus (UHH) and Christian Rathmann (HU Berlin) gave a keynote speech on the topic of ‘HI, GUT MORGEN oder MOIN - Register in DGS’ at the annual conference of the German Association for the Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. The event took place in the picturesque setting of a restored monastery in front of a sign language-orientated audience and was also sold out. The following day, Liona Paulus led a practical workshop on the same topic. It was a complete success, and the noticeable positive appreciation of sign language communication on the part of the participants opened up an optimistic view of the future for Deaf and hard of hearing children.
