Platz. Siehe hier.
Titel: "Ein erster Ansatz zur Identifizierung von Metaphern der Deutschen Gebärdensprache im Bereich der Kognition" / (Engl.: „A first approach to identifying metaphors of German Sign Language in the domain of cognition“)
Hier ist das Video in International Sign:
Oh, hallo!
Begreifen (BEGREIFEN)
Ist das eine Metapher?
Ja, das ist es.
Lassen Sie mich Ihnen zeigen, warum:
Es gibt also kein metaphorisches mapping.
Lassen Sie mich Ihnen zeigen, warum:
Haar zupfen
Ist dies eine Metapher? Nein, ist sie nicht.
Ich will Ihnen zeigen, warum:
Es gibt also kein metaphorisches mapping.
Herzlichen Dank! Auf Wiedersehen!
Oh, hey.
I am looking for metaphors.
Ah, I found one!
Sign language metaphors are formed by two mappings:
There is the iconic mapping that can be divided into two categories: One is the physical representation, such as the handshape or movment. The other is the PoA.
This basically means where the sign is produced at at the body.
The second mapping is the metaphorical mapping.
But what does a metaphor look like?
I will show you.
I have four signed videos that I am going to show to you.
to grasp (BEGREIFEN)
Is this a metaphor?
Yes it is.
Let me show you why:
There is a metaphorical mapping from ideas being objects that I can grab.
As for the physical representation, the handshape illustrates grabbing something. The PoA is the head which is linked to 'cognition'.
This means all the processes in the head. So, again, yes, it is a metaphor.
Is this a metaphor?
No, it is not. Let me show you why:
The physical representation still shows grabbing something by the handshape and movement.
The PoA is also still the head.
However, it does not represent 'cognition' but instead it shows the position of the fly. So, therefore, there is no metaphorical mapping.
Hence, it is not a metaphor.
Do you know who invented (ERFINDEN) this?
Is this a metaphor?
Yes it is.
Let me show you why:
The metaphorical mapping suggests knowledge being objects that can be picked up. The physical representation illustrates something being picked up.
The head is the PoA and represents 'cognition'. So, here we have a metaphor.
Is this a metaphor? No it is not.
Let me show you why:
The physical representation shows something being picked up.
The head is the PoA.
However, it does not represent 'cognition' but instead refers to hair. So, there is no metaphorical mapping.
Hence, this is not a metaphor.
Oh, do you still have questions?
Or would you like to exchange ideas about this? I would be happy to!
Please, send me an e-mail, wait...:
Thank you very much! Bye!
